People both for and against the project lobbied their case for hours in front of the Escambia County Board of Adjustment.

Bingo opponents wanted the board to stop the casino on the grounds electronic bingo isn't allowed on the key.

But board members say the legality of bingo isn't under their jurisdiction.

They could only decide on a commercial zoning request... Which they had no reason to deny."
