The event, which included a clinic last Friday, followed by two days of races, was hosted by Pensacola Yacht Club during the Fourth of July weekend.
Despite the challenging economic climate, the numkber of competitors represented a 30 percent increase from last year.
U.S. Sailing sponsors 25 of these junior sailing festivals each year. Overall, the national average has encountered a 23 percent decline in participants."
