Gulf State Park Pier to Open July 23, 2009: "June 30, 2009 - Gulf Shores / Orange Beach, AL (OBA) - Thousands of anglers from around the southeast have been anxiously awaiting the reopening of the Alabama Gulf State Park Fishing Pier, destroyed by Hurricane Ivan in September 2004. It's finally here - the new pier will open July 23rd at 9:00am and it's better than ever. Alabama State Officials will be on-hand for the grand opening."
