Gulf Shores council OK's rules for personal watercraft, parasail rides and beach chair rentals | Breaking News from the Press-Register - al.com: "GULF SHORES, Ala. -- Beach vendors, from those who rent umbrellas to those offering parasail trips, will have a new set of rules to follow this spring.
After several weeks of deliberation and debate with the companies that do business on Gulf Shores' beaches, the City Council voted unanimously Monday to enact a 20-page law guiding how those vendors will operate.
Originally Mayor Robert Craft sought to ban personal watercraft rentals from the city's shoreline. But municipal officials opted instead to install rules the city never had for beach businesses.
'We'll pay close attention this year an see how it goes,' Craft said Monday. 'Then we'll go from there.'"
