Navy plans spring announcement on Baldwin airfield expansion plans | al.com: "FOLEY, Ala. -- U.S. Navy officials at Milton, Fla.'s Whiting Field are still waiting for approval to acquire property needed to expand its outlying airstrips in Baldwin County before announcing which facilities will be enlarged.

The Navy plans to extend runways and safety zones around at least one of three training fields in Baldwin County. Those under consideration are Barin Field near Foley, as well as outlying landing fields in Summerdale and Silverhill."
