WEAR ABC 3 : Gulf Shores Settles with FEMA

WEAR ABC 3 :: Top Stories: "GULF SHORES - Gulf Shores Officials are breathing a little easier, after finding out their five year old struggle over FEMA claims could be nearing an end.

FEMA had been telling the city they owed almost 13-million dollars, stemming from claims made after hurricanes Ivan and Katrina.
But now, after going through the appeals process, that amount has been lowered to 1.3 million.

The gulf shores council will meet on Monday night to approve the payout, which will come from the city's 3 million in cash reserves."
