Wharf condo dispute settled - al.com: "AIG Baker has settled its multimillion-dollar dispute with Ray Bell Construction Co. Inc., the Tennessee contractor that built The Wharf's Levin's Bend condominium tower in Orange Beach, court filings show.
AIG Baker claimed in arbitration and a federal lawsuit that the Tennessee contractor missed deadlines and performed shoddy work. As such, the developer claimed, the contractor 'jeopardized the success and viability' of The Wharf, a 222-acre project combining residential dwellings, restaurants, shops, an amphitheater and a marina on the Intracoastal Waterway's southern shore.
The Birmingham-based mall builder sought $49 million in compensatory damages, which it linked to lost condominium sales and the cost of defending itself against buyers who litigated their way out of purchase contracts."
