Mobile's 100-degree reading ties record - Breaking News from the Press-Register - al.com: "Although the calendar says summer has barely begun, temperaturewise the region has been blistering in it for better than a week. The mercury in Mobile soared into the upper 90s late last week and through the weekend.

On Monday afternoon, Mobile hit 100 degrees for the first time this season, tying the daily record set June 22, 1881, according to the National Weather Service in Mobile. Forecasters were calling for highs to top out at 100 again today, which would tie the daily record set on June 23, 1930."
