Fewer sea turtles nesting on beach | pnj.com | Pensacola News Journal: "Sea turtle nesting season is getting off to a slow start.

So far, only three loggerhead nests have been found on the coast between Navarre Beach and Fort Pickens and on Perdido Key in the Gulf Islands National Seashore.

"We should have at least twice that, at least six or eight, by now," said Seashore biologist Mark Nicholas.

Nesting season is May 1 through August."
