Parasail age limit proposal sparks outcry, delays vote on Gulf Shores beach vendor rules | al.com: "GULF SHORES, Ala. -- The City Council delayed voting on a slate of safety and operating guidelines for beach vendors last week after a proposal to prohibit anyone younger than 12 from parasail and banana boat rides sparked an outcry from operators.

As such, the council plans to have another public discussion on the 11-page ordinance during today's work session scheduled for 3 p.m. Elected officials said last Monday that that meeting would be the last time they'd debate the new rules before voting on them at their Feb. 8 meeting.

'If you come back next time with new (complaints), then you're going to lose me,' Mayor Robert Craft told vendors and their lawyers during a lengthy discussion last week. '"
