February 9, 2010 - Orange Beach, AL - The Orange Beach Public Library held its kickoff event for The Big Read on Tuesday, February, 2, 2010 during story time. The feature book for 2010 is The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain. As Tom himself said, “Like it? Well, I don’t see why I shouldn’t like it. Does a boy get a chance to whitewash a fence every day? “ During story time the children learned about Tom Sawyer, snacked and listened to music. Each child then had the opportunity to “whitewash” a fence.
Story time meets every Tuesday in the Orange Beach Public Library meeting room at 10:00 a.m. For more information on the Orange Beach Public Library visit the library website at www.orangebeachlibrary.org.
