Activists: revoke ADEM's authority | Fox10tv.com: "MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - A coalition of 14 environmental groups has asked the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to take away Alabama's authority to regulate water pollution.

The Alabama Department of Environmental Management's National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System is part of the federal Clean Water Act. It is required to uphold at least the minimum federal clean water standards."
