Orange Beach finance chair pitches property tax to plug expected budget gap | al.com: "ORANGE BEACH, Ala. -- The chairman of the Citizen Advisory Committee for Finance made a case Tuesday for a 1-mill property tax increase that he said could save the city from having to drastically cut services in 2011.

To come up with $742,000 needed to plug a projected budget shortfall in 2011, Al Bradley, a former tax attorney and real estate developer who heads the Finance Committee, told council members and residents that they'd need to make deep cuts if they didn't find more tax revenue."
