Cold spring could mean a 'jelly year' for jellyfish on the Gulf Coast | al.com: "The secret life of the jellyfish is slowly being revealed.

Turns out they like cool springs and warm summers. That simple, seasonal recipe may be all that's required to send the Gulf's jelly population into overdrive, suggests research conducted by a pair of graduate students at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab.

Based on temperatures last year and so far this spring, we may be in for what they call a 'jelly year,' meaning a higher than normal population in the Gulf this summer."
