Mayor proposes Orange Beach tax referendum | al.com: "ORANGE BEACH, Ala. -- Residents could decide in an August referendum whether to increase property taxes or face cuts in services, Mayor Tony Kennon said Tuesday night.

At a City Council work session, Kennon announced a financial plan that includes a public vote on raising property taxes by 2 mills as well as refinancing about $18 million in bonds and extending a 1-cent sales tax scheduled to expire in 2015."
