The Big Read: Alabama Reads, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain

Public libraries throughout Alabama are joining in The Big Read: Alabama Reads, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain.

The celebration begins in February at the Orange Beach Public Library with a special Preschool Storytime Kickoff, Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. All area preschoolers and their caregivers are welcome to attend as we listen to small-town tales, sing songs and even whitewash a fence! We continue the Tom Sawyer fun with a special combined meeting of our library's two book groups Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at 2:30 p.m., a showing of the 1973 film Tom Sawyer at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 and an enlightening discussion of Mark Twain & Tom Sawyer with scholar and essayist Mary Riser at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2010.

All events are free and open to the public. For more information, see the Library's Website: www.orangebeachlibrary.org or call 251-981-2923.
