Alumnus named Apple CEO | The Auburn Plainsman

Alumnus named Apple CEO | The Auburn Plainsman: "Because of complicated health problems, Apple Chief Executive Officer Steve Jobs took a leave of absence and appointed his right-hand man Apple Chief Operating Officer Tim Cook.

For Cook, an ‘82 Auburn University graduate, the shift upward should be no problem. In 2004, Jobs took a two-month leave for pancreatic cancer treatment and left Cook in control.

In a personal press release Jan. 5., Jobs officially revealed his health problems.

“I’ve decided to share something very personal with the Apple community so that we can all relax and enjoy the show tomorrow,” Jobs said about the Macworld presentation.

He said the doctors found a hormone imbalance that has been depriving his body the proper proteins it needs."
