Orange Beach Community Garden, with plots still available, opens Monday | al.com: "ORANGE BEACH, Ala. -- Months in the making, the city's community garden is ready to sow.

Situated north of Canal Road near the teen and recreation centers, the Orange Beach Community Garden offers 11-foot-by-11-foot plots that are available for year-long leases. Renting a square costs $50 for the first year and $25 for each subsequent year.

Water is available on site, courtesy of a well that once was used to keep a tee-ball field there green, but each gardener is responsible for watering their plot, said Recreation Coordinator Angela Bateman."
