Mullet Wrapper- Orange Beach to distribute free trees on Feb. 27

Mullet Wrapper: "Orange Beach was recognized by the non profit Arbor Day Foundation as a Tree City USA community for its commitment to urban forestry. It is the twelfth year Orange Beach has earned this national designation. To celebrate this honor and in observance of Arbor Day, the city will once again host its annual tree giveaway. Staff from Community Development will be handing out saplings to students at Orange Beach Elementary School on Friday, February 26. They will also be giving saplings away in front of Community Development on Saturday, February 27 from 8am to 10am. Larry Ellis, Forrester for the City of Orange Beach, says that 1200 trees will be given away with some of the varieties to include crab apple, bald cypress, live oak, sawtooth oak, mayhaw, river burch, and overcup oak."
