Theater wins city funding: Nonprofit South Baldwin Community Theatre will bring shows to Gulf Shores | al.com: "GULF SHORES, Ala. -- The City Council on Monday agreed to award a $6,000 stipend to the South Baldwin Community Theatre in exchange for the nonprofit group's increased participation in local schools and municipal after-school programs.

'They're trying to elevate the quality of shows that they're bringing to the area, so in order to do that they have had to start paying for directors,' said Grant Brown, Gulf Shores' director of Recreation and Cultural Affairs. 'They're not part of the city, but we're going to embrace them as if they were.'"
