She believes Orange Beach still the best place to be - al.com

She believes Orange Beach still the best place to be - al.com: "After living 60 years in Orange Beach, Margaret Childress Long is so convinced it's the best place to be, she wrote a book about it. In 2006, with the help of Mike Shipler, Long published 'The Best Place to Be: The Story of Orange Beach, Alabama.'

'I was born in 1947, and I was almost 2 years old when we moved to our house on Cotton Bayou,' Long said. 'My Uncle Amos Garrett was a dentist in Robertsdale, and he built the house.'

Long still lives in the family home on Cotton Bayou, and in addition to being proud of her hometown, she has spent her life in service to Orange Beach and Baldwin County."
