DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY CLASSES
Saturdays 10:00am - 12:00pm Weekly

Digital Photography Tips and Tricks
This is a hands-on class designed to give you the necessary information and skill needed to understand and become proficient with your digital camera. We will learn about the camera controls and work on overcoming common problems such as shutter lag and blurred images.
Each participant should bring a digital camera, charged batteries, a camera memory card, and the camera manual (if available).
Digital Photography Composition
What is the difference between a snapshot and a photograph? In this class we apply the elements and principles of design to emphasize the photograph's subject. Learn how to add interest and drama to your digital pictures. Photo Composition is the ART of photography.
Digital Photography Capturing Light and Motion
Exposure and focus are key elements in digital photography. In this class we will explore the following questions: How does shutter speed effect the image? How can I determine what will be in focus? What is the best lighting for my photographs? Capturing Light and Motion is the SCIENCE of photography.
Editing and Sharing your Digital Photographs
Snapping a digital picture is only the start of the adventure. What can you do with those pictures on your camera's memory card? In this class we will cover the following topics: downloading digital photos to the computer, organizing and renaming pictures, enhancing pictures with image editing software and sharing your photographs as email attachments, slideshows, prints, photo books and in online galleries.

PASTELS
Tuesday 10:00am - 12:00pm Weekly
Beginning January 19 running six weeks
Fee: $80 all supplies included
Instructor: Tommy Vogel
Talented local artist Tommy Vogel will introduce you to drawing with pastels. This pastel class with artist will focus on technique, color application and composition. Students will complete a picture in each lesson. Take this fun class. Stop by the Arts Center to see some of Tommy's works on display.

PLEIN AIR OIL PAINTING
Saturdays 9:00am - 3:00pm Weekly
Beginning January 23 running six weeks
Fee: $150
Instructor: Joanne Hall
Joanne Hall from Arkansas will be teaching a special six week oil painting class beginning January 23thrd. Study with this marvelous artist and learn the special techniques of "plein air" painting with oils. Joanne will be teaching "plein air" techniques that allow the artist to complete a painting on site. Students will paint at a different locations around the Art Center each of six class sessions with lots of one-on-one instruction in composition, color, paint application, drawing and self critique.
