Proposed sewer hikes are debated - al.com: "ORANGE BEACH — After voting to raise sewer bills in 2010, then rescinding those changes a month later, the City Council is poised once again to vote on a rate hike at its Dec. 15 meeting.
On the agenda for the 6 p.m. council meeting will be a resolution that will raise the monthly fee from $20 to $28 for residents and businesses within the city limits and from $30 to $42 for customers outside Orange Beach, including Ono Island.
'At this point $28 is what it takes to make (the sewer system) break even if nothing good happens in the next three years,' Mayor Tony Kennon said. 'We can always change it, we can always go down.'"
