Mobile, AL — January 11, 2008 — Circuit City held a nationwide contest for their new FireDog mascot. They received nearly 7,000 entries nationwide and selected 20 finalists, one of them from Mobile, Alabama.
Derrick Dockery from Mobile, Alabama entered his dog Harley in the contest and she is now one of the 20 finalists! As part of the contest each finalist was to name a local humane organization and the Mobile Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) was designated by Mr. Dockery.
The Mobile SPCA will receive $1 for each vote cast for Harley, up to $100,000. If Harley wins the Mobile SPCA could also win $50,000! These funds will be used to save more homeless shelter pets, provide spay and neuter assistance, and help towards fighting animal cruelty, including illegal dog fighting.

The Mobile SPCA is asking everyone to vote for Harley. You can only vote once from an email address so everyone needs to get all of their friends, family and acquaintances to vote from their home and office emails. This is the only dog from Alabama that is one the top 20 finalists. We have 100,000 votes we have to muster to be awarded the $100,000. You can vote through January 26.
