New beach policies considered - al.com: "GULF SHORES — Mayor Robert Craft said that he intends next week to unveil a new slate of policies for the public beach, including increased safety patrols, restrictions on tents and a ban on personal watercraft rental.

Craft said Monday during a City Council work session that he and other municipal officials were wrapping up meetings this week with property management companies and other business es that have a stake in the public beach and planned a public meeting to vet the proposed changes Tuesday at 2 p.m.

'We want to make sure there are no unintended consequences of this decision that we try to get as much advice and input as possible,' the mayor said."
