Seeing the truth about red snapper - al.com

Seeing the truth about red snapper - al.com: "Finally federal officials are noticing what Gulf Coast fishermen have been pointing out for the past several years: The red snapper population in the Gulf is on the rebound.

A new red snapper assessment confirmed recreational fishermen's claims that the substantial size of the fish caught this year is an indicator of a healthy or at least healthier fish population. Armed with this information, the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council is expected to set higher catch limits and possibly allow a longer season next year. The council will make a final decision in February."
