FOLEY - al.com: "FOLEY — Street lighting renovations postponed when the downtown streetscape project was shelved last year will now start in January, while more Christmas decorations will light up U.S. 98 during the holiday season, city officials said.

The Foley City Council voted Monday night to approve an agreement with Riviera Utilities for antique-style streetlights along Ala. 59 and U.S. 98. The lights will cost $163,400 with the cost to be paid over 10 years, said Mayor John Koniar.

In addition to the cost of the lights, council members had also budgeted $50,000 in 2008 for city crews to work on the project."
