South Baldwin chambers pursuing "more formal merger talks" - Breaking News from the Press-Register - al.com: "FOLEY, Ala. -- South Baldwin County's two largest business advocacy groups continue to contemplate a merger and plan to begin surveying their nearly 2,000 members on the subject as early as this week, according both the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce and the Alabama Gulf Coast Chamber or Commerce.

The two chambers disseminated identical e-mails to their members Tuesday, notifying them that after 'exhaustive' and 'candid' discussions about joining forces, both organizations' boards of directors are 'interested in pursuing more formal merger talks.'

Still, the letter said, 'Absolutely no decision has been made regarding a merger. Such a decision can come only from the membership at large.'"
